Imagine your family display on top of your fireplace

Showcasing your beloved memories in your home will be a topic of conversation every time you have guests because your world is your family.

It will make your home more personal and inviting and will last for generations to come. You will want to display your photos where your guests are certain to see and glance at them.

Your family photos will complement your home whether you have a modern, vintage or classic decor. It will add interest and color to any room.

Here are 5 tips to consider before having your family session done.
1) Clothing is very important. Patterns should be avoided so the focus remains on the faces. It will also represent your family in a classic way.  Solid colors such as jeans with a black, white, gray or navy top will never become outdated. Only the hairstyle!!!

2)  Think about where you will display your photo.  If the fabrics in your room are darker choose dark clothing such as black, charcoal, navy, forest green or if the fabrics are light choose lighter clothing such as white, off-white, tan, beige or yellow.

3) Have everyone dress in the same range of colors to achieve color harmony and balance as this will enrich your photo.

4) Measure your wall in advance to determine the proper size and if you need a horizontal or vertical photo. Do you want to display a single impressive large photo or a grouping of 2 or 3. The large photo will be perfect on top of your sofa, fireplace or home entrance. You can fill in your staircase with a gallery of photos.

A horizontal row will balance the space and will give a calming illusion, add a feeling of height to a room with a vertical row with an odd number.  Visit my display gallery tips on my website for more ideas.

Whichever you choose make sure to fill your wall without being too cluttered. It is a great idea to have a consultation beforehand to discuss your wants and needs since choosing the appropriate size image is important. Your photo should enhance the area. There is nothing worst than a small photo on a large wall looking like a stamp or a large photo on a small wall over empowering.

5) Larger images should always be mounted and laminated to protect them from fading, bubbling and becoming yellow with age.   Canvass Gallery Wraps are available for those who prefer a clean, modern look.

With a bit of planning, your home will look amazing and will make your guests envy you at your next gathering.
