3 tips in dressing for success for your Business Photo

A business photo done by a professional photographer is an important asset to your business so your clients are able to visualize your brand, see who you are and help them make a connection with you.

Your business portrait will showcase a professional image of your company and your services. It is an opportunity to make a lasting impression on your potential new clients.

Dressing accordingly and carefully choosing your attire so the photo represents you at the upmost importance.

Here are some tips to follow that will help you dress for success:

1) Dress the same way you will meet your clients to avoid looking unnatural.

2) Avoid clothing that wrinkles easily. Avoid clothing with patterns as they are distracting. Solid colors are best to keep the focus on the face. Midtones such as green, blue, brown, black, navy look pleasing in a business photo. Light colors such as beige, tan, peach, pink might wash out your skin tone. Bright colors such as reds, oranges will distract from the face. Unless you have a specific uniform that represents your work environment.

3) Make sure your hair is properly groomed and make-up is properly applied as they play an important part of the final outcome of your appearance, An evening wear make-up is recommended. Avoid shimmery make-up. If you never wear make-up, a little foundation is suggested to even out your skin tone. Bring loose powder for touch ups for shiny skin.

Bonus Tip:

Take this opportunity to wear your favorite little black dress and make your session less formal. Have glamour photos taken and save those for your significant other.

Business photos should be updated every 1 to 2 years, especially for women who change their hairstyle and color, if you start wearing glasses or if your weight fluctuates.
